CLOCK TOWER uses elements from San Marco's ornate clock, such as zodiac symbols, the sun, moon and stars. While a clock face has necessary structure and order, I wanted to give a dreamier, more abstract feeling to this pattern. By scattering the motifs, you get a feeling of floating, while being able to see things both close-up and from a distance at once.

DOGE'S PALACE is inspired by the facade of this enormous building that leads to the water's edge. Pink and while marble are so quintessentially Venetian, with a pleasing recurring geometry.

MILLEFIORI means 'thousand flowers' and is the name for the tiny glass flower beads that are turned into necklaces and earrings. This is my interpretation of a typical bead design, turned into a versatile and engaging repeat.

STONE SHIELD is a simple pattern inspired by the complex and varied stone decoration which adorns even the most humble buildings in Venice. Classic and geometric, this is a design which could suit multiple surfaces at a larger or smaller scale.

MURANO GLASS is taken from the vases and tableware typical of Venice. I layered hand-painted blobs and stripes to create a semi-abstract yet balanced design which could be interpreted in multiple ways.

ARCHED WINDOWS takes inspiration from the ornate windows and covered balconies found all through Venice. This is a highly structured and architectural design but the quatrefoils and delicate lines give it lightness and airiness as well.

VENICE TOILE showcases hand-drawn landmarks and architectural details in a loose Toile de Jouy interpretation. I love drawing for capturing the essence of a scene, which I hope to convey with this design.

GRAND CANAL is simply the movement on the surface of water, while the water itself flows through Venice carrying people and goods to sustain the city. Venice needs water but is also threatened by it, which makes it doubly relevant and important to include in any discussion on Venice.
